The Occasional Von Balthasar Quote
This semester I'm taking a course in the theology of Von Balthasar. This means you just might see me throwing up a quote of his now and then in the coming months. Like now!:
“Christ did not leave the Father when he became man to bring all creation to fulfillment; and neither does the Christian need to leave his center in Christ in order to mediate him to the world, to understand his relation to the world, to build a bridge between revelation and nature, philosophy and theology.”
from "Theology and Sanctity."

Yes! Mark, I'm pumped you're taking the class. Who's teaching it? Enjoy! And here's a link about Balthasar and the Exercises: http://www.sankt-georgen.de/leseraum/loeser3.html
Hope to see you before entrance day!
Mark,
Excellent! I hope you'll be able to give us a Cliffs Notes-like "compare & contrast" between Rahner & von Balthasar.
(Interesting that both were the products of Jesuit formation!)
AMDG,
-J.
Mark,
When you wrap the course up, maybe you could give us a brief comepare-and-contrast Cliffs Notes thing on Rahner & von Balthasar.
AMDG,
-J.
P.S. Interesting how both were the products of Jesuit formation...
I like the little I know of von Balthasar ... posted something about him and his view on hell a while ago - enjoy the class :-)
