Move Over Saint Patrick, Here Comes The Doctor

Brace Yourselves! March 17 isn't just St. Patrick's Day, and the day of all those indults that other bloggers are so-Catholic-nerdily keeping lists of. It's also a happy day for another type of us nerds, the day that the new Doctor Who series premieres on the SciFi channel. So, step into the Tardis and let's go!

Ohhhh. Y'know, I've already seen every episode, but I fully intend to watch the entire thing when it airs on SciFi. It is completely brilliant. You are going to love it. Eccleston is amazing.

(Warning: Satire shields on full!)

Ship of Fools (www.ship-of-fools.com) used to have a funny little graphic of Cardinal Ratzinger as a Dalek; he moved around droning, "Excommunicate! Excommunicate!"

Oh, that would be so exciting!

If I had cable.

But I have something better: A friend with a significant other in England what owes me big time.

Can't wait for more Americans to know the happy, shiny joy that is the new Doctor.

My kids love Dr Who. We have seen him through every single one of his incarnations I believe.

Besides Saint Patrick's Day has another distinction. It happens to be my birthday.

Guess we know what my family will be doing that night.

I´ll bring back St. Patrick for a while, hehe:

Could any of you post any recommended links on St. Patrick´s Day? Blogs or sites you like, those which show what the celebration is about in a deeper level.. funny stories, reflections, whatever you like.

I´m not Irish, nor American, but I would love to know more about the "behind the scenes" of this day.

(And, of course, to be in Ireland on that day, someday..)

Thanks in advance :D

Estefanía.

March 17th is of special note for me personally this year. It is the day I finish work. Then I am heading overseas to Europe for about six months on March 19th;-)
