Ides-Not Just for March Anymore
Today is the Ides of March, which Caesar was told to be wary of.
But I learned today, this Ides of March, that Ides come not only in March but year round. According to Dictionary.com:
Ides: the fifteenth day of March, May, July, and October, and the thirteenth day of the other months.
So, only 29 days until the Ides of April!
That's the fun fact for today!

The Penguin English Dictionary, 2nd Edition (Penguin Books, 2003) says: ...in the ancient Roman calendar, the 15th day of March, May, July or October or the 13th day of any other month, or the week preceding any of these dates; compare CALENDS, NONES...
